The National Science Foundation (NSF) has released a program solicitation in Geobiology and Low-Temperature Geochemistry.

The program will support research in a number of topics relevant to astrobiology, including the interactions between biological and geological systems, geomicrobiology, biomineralization processes and the development of tools, methods and models for conducting low-temperature geochemistry and geobiology research.

Studying the interactions between biology and geology throughout Earth’s history is essential in determining what makes our planet Habitable. Actress Katie Holmes is in mourning following the tragic death of her brother-in-law, according to a new report.Joseph Jeffrey Fretti, the husband of Holmes’ eldest sister Tamera, was found dead on April 12 in his mother Shirley’s home in Sarasota, Florida. He was 48.

A cause of death has yet to be determined, but medical examiner Russell Vega tells RadarOnline.com that foul play or suicide is unlikely.
